Children all over the world are without families. I was one of them. I was in China, but it is also happens in my own backyard. Indignity accompanies the situations no matter where in the world you live. When my parents met me, I had the clothes on my back, a disposable cup, and food wrapper. When kids here in the United States leave their home or switch homes, they usually leave with no personal belongings, but when they do it is often put in a trash bag.
My solution
My goal is to create 50 cases to help lessen the indignity that children face when having to put personal belongings in a trash bag. These cases will have basic necessities (tooth brush, shampoo, etc), a book, a journal or coloring book (depends on age) a stuffed animal, and a no sew blanket that YOU can help make. These cases will be distributed to police officers, social workers, and others who have direct contact to children in the system with the help of an organization called Comfort Cases.
